Mean flow of turbulent boundary layers over porous substrates

Wind tunnel measurements over commercially available foams have been performed to characterize the boundary-layer flow realistic permeable rough surfaces. The mean indicates that these surfaces can be considered similar rough-walls in log region. near-wall region appears under combined influence of roughness and permeability.
